Current Map
GM Notes
Thanks for your patience and cooperation.
I send maps of the current position to you directly, and the report to you and the Cat23-700 list. If you do not want the maps sent to you, let me know.
France has a different address that he would prefer using. Please make note of it in the report.
I'd like to remind everyone this one time that I will not be sending out reminders during 1901 and that if you do not send me your orders on time you will be replaced. The last set of orders you send me for a turn will be the set I use.
Normally, the deadlines will be weekly (7 days). However, in 1901 they will be a minimum of 10 days. That makes the first deadline Thursday, November 16, 2000 at 8:00 PM CT(US) or Thursday, November 17, 2000 at 2:00 AM (GMT). As it happens, this is a play date for the play my son is currently in. It may be necessary to change this date. If that becomes the case I will notify all you this weekend.

Report Format | ||
My reports have a format. The very beginning tells what game, what turn, and who’s playing and how they can be reached. The next section is simply the previous turns ending position. This is provided so that you can set up your board. The results section contains the submitted moves and their adjudication. This enables you move the pieces and see the rulings. If I feel a decision needs explanation, sometimes I will talk about it here as notes. The Supply Center section is next, it shows supply center ownership, and the changes that take place in them. If I need adjustments I ask for them next: This would include retreats, builds and removals (I show what is, not what might be)*. The next section shows the final position for the turn. It is used to produce my maps. Hence, if it has a mistake, the map will show it. The sections that follow may not always be present: Proposals, Voting, Press and GM Notes. If I have nothing for these sections they are omitted. The last section is the next deadline(s).
*Since a piece can be retreated off the board and rebuilt at home when it is dislodged, I’m going to show that I need a retreat for a specific
piece and not state that a build might be needed. In the case where a
retreat captures another countries supply center I will separate the
building/removal phase from the retreat phase.
Though parts of these reports are automated. Most of it is done by
hand. Therefore, my reports are subject to errors in all sections. I do my best to keep them error free. But, I will make mistakes, mostly
notational in nature, but not always, I will always own up to my mistakes and correct them.
Special Symbols | ||
1. Order notation is as in the rulebook with the following
exception: | ||
< > -- Orders that fail will be surrounded by these
brackets. | ||
2. In the adjustment phase after a Fall turn, changes in centers
held are indicated as follows:
* * -- Centers gained will be surrounded by these asterisks.
/ / -- Centers lost will be surrounded by these slashes.
3. Other notations used when reporting results include:
ANN -- The unit was dislodged, had no available retreat, and was therefore ANNihilated.
ATT -- The unit was ATTacked successfully.
D -- The unit was Disbanded, I rarely use this one.
NBR -- Indicates that No Build orders were Received.
NCO -- The unit could not move because the province listed
is Not COnnected to the province from which the unit started.
NMR -- Indicates that No Move orders were Received.
NRR -- Indicates that No Removal or Retreat orders were
Received. | ||
NSO -- The support order failed because the movement to be
supported was Not So Ordered.
NSU -- There is No Such Unit on the board.
OTB -- The piece was retreated Off The Board.
OTM -- The unit being supported in place was Ordered To
Move. | ||
R -- The unit was dislodged, and Retreated to the region
listed. | ||
